d'oh!
It's just too Simpson to be taken seriously any more.
Also, it's a baseball word.

I know a Homer, and once you associate it with a real person, that's who you see with it not some cheezy cartoon. That said, it's not a fave, it never seems to sit right, not even on the person wearing it.
Ooh, I love it so much. Definitely a top 20 or so name for me, but I've been thinking fondly of it often lately.
Good on a pigeon. Otherwise, too Simpson by far.
A bit Simpson, but I like it!
Much too Simpson. I've never seen an episode of the Simpsons in my life and genuinely enjoyed the Iliad, but Homer Simpson is still an overwhelming association. Disgregarding the Simpsons and the poet, it's an unattractive sound, reminiscent of the likes of Elmer. And it lends itself towards the nickname Homie, which isn't comely. I think it could work if paired with something equally classical, but more breezy and on trend. I like Homer Atticus and Atticus Homer. Either way, I prefer Homeros or Omiros. Or Omeros, just to be Walcottian?
I’m not a fan of this name at all, personally.
I adore Homer and would use it on a child in a heartbeat.
The poet was cool, I read the Odyssey when I was in the 3rd grade. Homer? I mean, I don’t see why somebody would name their child this these days unless it’s an honoring name. It has a cool but ugly sound to it. Too old for me to see on a person.
I don't like it. It somehow reminds me of the COVID-19 pandemic.
