I like it. As a gal name.
I think that a lot of white people in the US would be surprised it was a white person (esp if a guy!), but that's not exactly saying it seems out of place... It's just one of those names where I think white people wouldn't necessarily picture it on a white gal by default, lol. It's not one of the names that strikes me as being in a distinctively "black style" though.
+ Also to me the connotation isn't bling, it's durability, and just the natural perfection of crystals.
I find it a little droll as a guyname because of the connotation of "hardness"
