[Opinions] Re: Prudence and Agatha and Dorcas, Harvey, Rosalind and Susie, Hilda and Zelda, Ambrose, Salem, Sabrina
Agatha jumped 60% in the USA last year to a number of births not seen since 1926, so it may actually be on its way up.I personally have always really liked Dorcas, but unfortunately I think the slang word "dork" has made it impossible for it to come back in the USA in my lifetime. Sabrina is a fascinating name to me because it has an extremely up-and-down history in the USA, with all the jump ups explained by a different film or TV show featuring a character with the name. It is one of the names which gives the most proof that popular culture really does influence what babies are named. Harvey had a quite definite comeback in the UK in the early 2000s. It was starting to rise in the USA, partly because of the main character on the TV show "Suits", when the Harvey Weinstein scandal caused it to plateau instead of keep on rising. I think it has a good chance to start rising again here in a few years. I personally really like Rosalind, Zelda, and Hilda. Ambrose has never been my cup of tea.
