[Facts] Help with Russian/Ukrainian name.
My boyfriend had a friend with the coolest middle name, and I've been trying to figure out how to spell it exactly or what it might even mean.
It sounds like: Seh-mohn-ov-nah.
I was thinking it might be spelled like:
Simonovna
Not sure... I don't know much about the names in these areas...
Any ideas? Help?

It's probably either Semyonovna or Symonovna and it means 'daughter of Semyon (or Symon)'. Russians and Ukrainians don't have a middle name in the western European sense. Instead, they have a patronymic name that is derived from the name of their father -- in this case, Semyon or Symon.
