Soekie is a routine nn for Susan, Susannah etc in Afrikaans; with a short vowel as in book or look. So that's what I automatically expect and say.

Personally I prefer Sue or Susie.

I don't pronounced Sookie and Suki the same.

Suki is okay but Sookie makes me think of "Jersey Shore".

Suki / Sukey / Sukie are all fine as a nickname for Susan.

I can’t stand the Sookie spelling because it looks like it should have a shorter vowel (oo as in book rather than oo as in pool), and with that shorter vowel the word “sook” means “sulk” or “person who is sulking” in my dialect.
