Help[Opinions] your Arabic name
what would your name be like when translated or transliterated into arabic? Mine would be Awad Mahdi Jibril Saidi. Awad is similar to Ohad, Mahdi is a rough translation of Igal, meaning "will redeem". although by some stretch I suppose Isa could also work as it sounds similar and to christians holds a similar meaning. Jibril is not in my hebrew name but my parents were considering naming me Gavriel, and Jibril sounds similar enough to Igal. Saidi alludes to my last name which has S and D in it.

Anyway, I looked far and wide and Isis doesn’t seem to have an Arabic translation? It’s Daesh? Lol. Isis means “throne” and Daesh means something entirely different so I don’t think that will make the cut. The only Arab country I’ve been to, Egypt, I introduced my name and they didn’t seem to translate it in anyway besides just tell me the original name is Auset, not the whitened Greek Isis. That’s about the closest I can get.

Who said they were? Egypt turned Arab over time. Egypt’s official name is literally The Arab Republic of Egypt. I just wanted to see if my name could be translated to another name arabic. Clearly not. But yes, Anicent Egyptians did not speak Arabic.

Franshiska? Fransiuna? Doesn’t really work with a name that’s very European and medieval. Can’t even really find anything with the etymology of “free.”

My name's already Arabic haha. It's not too hard to guess from my nickname (Jam) and my middle name means 'princess'.

I totally missed the transliterated part. In that case it would be Khalilah, which is pretty much perfect if you just take off the last l.

Literally Sawsan. Eh. It's not bad, but there's prettier Arabic names and it's sooooo similar to my actual name forgive me for not being more thrilled hah.

not sure if Mikha'il is in use among muslims. I've seen Jibril plenty of times but never Mikha'il or Israfil.
