I just started babysitting for a family with 2 kids.
Little boy is Gael and little girl is Noelle.
It struck me what a beautiful name Gael is (ga ehl). I just added it to my PNL, lol!
What do you think of Gael?
Do you prefer Gael or Gaël (spelling / appearance only, doesn’t change pronunciation)?
What do you think of sibset Gael and Noelle?
Noelle is lackluster next to Gael imo. I don’t mind the matchy matchiness but I wish they would’ve gone all out and used Noel then.

I agree Gael and Noelle together is pretty unimaginative.
Gael isn’t that striking to me but it’s okay. I would prefer Maelle, Noelle, Joelle, so on… but it’s is sturdy yet airy.
Diacritics always make the name better, but in this case I kinda like it as Gael.

I kind of like it. I first met a kid with that name last summer at summer school.

I'm indifferent to it, havw known guy called Gale most of my life so it's really just everyday stuff to me. Thank (expketive) the family went feminine for the girl and didnt cave to something twee.

I really like Gael. I appreciate that Gaël clarifies how it should be pronounced it you understand diacritics, but in the US I can understand not using it since so many of us don't know the keyboard shortcuts to type it and aren't familiar with many diacritics.
Gael and Noelle are too rhyme-y together for my personal taste, but both names have nice sounds and I actually appreciate that at least the spelling isn't too match-y.

I love Gael, I think of warm sunny weather and sandy beaches for some reason.
I prefer Gaël, though. (I'm a huge fan of diacritics 😁, these quirky marks are quite useful, at least in French).
I also enjoy Gaëlle for a girl.
I guess, I prefer Maëlle to Gaëlle (girl names); but Gaël to Maël (boy names).

Funny how you picture sunny weather and sandy beaches. For me it sounds soooo Breton. So Gaelic. I picture rocky shores with a stormy and grey sea crashing in. Just like the beautiful Brittany.

I think my brain might associate Gael with gayety (merrymaking) and gold. Something like this: Gayety + gold = yellow colour = sandy beaches? 😉
