In an English-speaking country, I definitely prefer Clara, unless you have close ties to some culture that spells it with a K.
Spelling wise, I much prefer Clara. Klara is ok, but just doesn't look nearly as nice. I find Clara to be a completely gorgeous and sophisticated name which stands the test of time. You can't really go wrong with it. I have positive association attached to Clara as its happens to be the name of one of my many nieces, along with a friend of mine. 🙂

In English, I prefer Clara. Klara in German is fine. What I don't like is when Clara is pronounced to rhyme with Sarah, or like Clare with an -a. I'm strictly a Clahra fancier.
