[Opinions] Elvira
I am so smitten with Elvira right now. What middle names might you like? This is one of those places where even I might consider Rose. I do pronounce it el-VEER-eh but with my English surname it would be the “vie” pronunciation inevitably, which I also like. Thoughts?

Adore Elvira, but only with the "el-VEER-uh" pronunciation. Utterly gorgeous. Nn Elvi / Elvy? :0)

Elvira is beautiful, I pronounce it with -vee, which I think is much prettier.

Elvira SaraiI've never heard anyone pronounce it with a "vie" sound. I don't like it - it's too vampish and voluptuous.

Not a fan, feels very dowdy and ugly.

I think Elvira is a lovely-sounding name, especially the el-VEER-eh pronunciation.
Definitely a simple middle name. Rose is okay, but I'm not sure about two 'r' sounds so close together... depends on taste I guess. I'd recommend Lynn, Day, or Poppy for similar names.
Also - depending on where you live, people might associate Elvira with Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (a character portrayed by Cassandra Peterson) or the song Elvira (by Dallas Frazier, most famously covered by the Oak Ridge Boys). I'd avoid using it for those reasons, but if someone I knew still used it, I wouldn't be weirded out.

I had a friend and we were calling her Elvi. If you're gonna use it as a middle name it is not much of a concern in my opinion. Also both el-VEE-ruh and el-VY-ruh both good.
