Read a ton of fantasy from 10 onwards and never ran across your example, in fact never saw a repeat wizard/witch/sorcerer type name at all. Can't speak to teen romance ruts since I never read any, but did notice a tendency for cop characters to be named Frank, Jack, or more rarely, Joe.
