Help[Opinions] Aneurin
After watching a movie and then adding it onto my extensive list of film favorites, I decided to look up the brief cast of actors and actresses as curiosity naturally came to me, and learned that the main character was played by a Welsh Actor, named
Aneurin Barnard.
I never heard of the name before. Apparently it's a modern form of Aneirin, which I equally don't care for. But what are your thoughts on it?
According to this site, the name is pronounced, "a-NAY-rin" but I've also seen it said with a long I.
There was also a very minor character named Morag.
Thoughts?

I like Aneirin, but in English Aneurin reminds me too much of aneurysm. Morag is cool but at least where I live it would be hard to pull off.

As for Morag, a friend of Scottish descent has a sister named Morag: they explain it as the Scots Gaelic translation of Sarah (= princess) and say that it appears in the Gaelic Bible. I like it for its strangeness, and for not being Sarah.

I think that it helps to be Welsh for this one! I've always associated it with Nye Bevan: this is the start of his wikipedia entry, but for those who might be interested, there's a whole lot more.

He was first elected as MP for Ebbw Vale in 1929, and used his Parliamentary platform to make a number of influential criticisms of Winston Churchill and his Conservative government during the Second World War. Before entering Parliament, Bevan was involved in miner's union politics and was a leading figure in the 1926 general strike. Bevan is widely regarded as one of the most influential left-wing politicians in British history.

Looks too close to the medical conditions of aneurysm and anuria although its pronunciation isn't close to the name pronunciation.
