I don't care for -elle endings. But I like Janel.
I like it more than Janet. I have negative associations from a Janet I knew, plus RHPS. Jackson is a fairly positive association.
Janel was the name of the first person I made friends with at school, in pre-kindergarten. Didn't end up liking her a lot, but still liked her name. I also met a Janelle who'd be about 18 now, and it was surprising on her, but not unappealing.
