The year is 2025. All of Elspeth and Auguste’s children and their partners have sadly passed away, leaving their grandchildren and their families behind. After many years of hard work, Tesni-Fleur and Kirk retired early and spent their golden years travelling the world. Leo and Kirk’s relationship was strained for some time after Leo came out as gay, but their relationship has steadily improved. Leo became a sound engineer and met and fell in love with his DH, a pop star turned record producer, at a concert. They recently adopted their DD, who has become close friends with Lucian’s DD2. Lucian became quite a rebel in school and had a DD at 18 with his girlfriend at the time, which caused him to step up and find work at an IT firm. He married his girlfriend, but the relationship didn’t work out and they divorced a few years after their DD was born and he was given sole custody due to concerns over his ex-DW’s capabilities to care for their DD. Lucian became a manager at his firm and later met his DF at a work event, and they recently had a DD together.
Matthieu and Isolde retired and began writing textbooks and help guides for students studying for exams, and occasionally visited the school they used to teach at to volunteer as teaching assistants. Emeline inherited her parents’ love for languages and studied French and Spanish at the University of Oxford, and now works as a translator. She met her DH, a news reporter, whilst doing translation work for an interview. They have three children, and are currently expecting their fourth.
Gus and Emily had a daughter, but couldn’t have any more children afterwards. Gus has become a very successful novelist, and Emily is preparing to pass her flower shop onto her daughter who has also become a florist. Their DD met her DH, a photographer, at a wedding they were providing for, and currently have a DD and are expecting their second child.
Saoirse and Enrique both took an early retirement, but continue to do voluntary work, with Saoirse volunteering at the museum and Enrique spending his time visiting primary schools to teach children about fire safety. They have two children, both of whom have just finished university and are planning the next stages of their lives. DS is a physiotherapist and his DGf has just finished a medical degree and started her rotations as a junior doctor. DD has become a graphic designer, and is hoping to meet someone to start a family with.
After being afraid of telling her parents about her dreams, Colette decided to pursue her passion for dance which both her mother and father supported her with. She attended a top ballet school and became a prima ballerina, and reconnected with an old school friend after one of her performances who later became her DH who works as a vet. They now have two DDs.
