I could definitely see naming a fictional character that, but I wouldn’t recommend naming an actual child after such a negative word (it means lifeless or bleak)—maybe Baron, Barron, Barin, or something else like that?
Though evidently there’s a place in Kentucky, USA named ‘Barren county’, so maybe if you live in or around a place like that, it’ll feel more like a place name, but I don’t know 🤔

Very bad idea. If you must have the sound, at least use Baron, though I think it's obnoxious and pretentious.
Barren is a word and not a positive one. It means either unable to bear children, or it refers to land that is dry and possibly infertile as well.

Baron is just as bad as Barren IMO, I'd suggest Beren if someone wants that sound.
