[Opinions] How did SpongeBob SquarePants get his name?

Ok so I know that they changed SpongeBoy to SpongeBob because their is a mop called SpongeBoy and that SquarePants is because his pants are square but how did they come up with the “Bob” part in the name SpongeBob
