[Opinions] Thoughts on this name?
If you go through my personal name list (which I allow people to vote on, by the way) you’ll see that it contains the name Gary. Gary was largely used in the ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s and beyond. But it’s since declined. Wdyt? Am I right or wrong? Should Gary make a comeback?

I've always preferred Gareth.
Don't really like it
It's not a name I like, but since this is my personal position, I think it's okay for it to come back.
I don't think you're wrong exactly, it's just that Gary is still very much "around" for me, in the form of many, many men in their 50s and 60s. Everybody here knows a Gary. It can't come back yet because it hasn't left yet!
It would be pretty funny and random to meet a baby Gary though. I'd get a kick out of that. I would love to meet a baby Barry, so why not a Gary?

I mean, Gary has almost left the US top 1000, but I do see your point.
It was still in the US top 100 in 1987! I thought it had dropped much lower, much faster than that. Wild to think there are so many 30-something Garys out there somewhere.
I really, really do not like Gary. I don't know why.
Hi!
I didn't know that Gary was so popular in 1950s. Looking for it I found that in 1952 the highest number of Gary were born in U.S. (38,753 new Gary) while in 1954 Gary reached the highest rank (#9).
I don't live in an English-speaking country but I appreciate Gary. It's simple, short, recognizable with its -y ending and quite intuitive to write and pronounce abroad.
It's ready for a comeback in my opinion.
Living in Italy I've never met a Gary. I always figure a Gary just as Gary Oldman while playing Sirius Black. So Gary in my mind is a charismathic, mysterious, wild-tempered and quite troublesome person who has secretly a heart of gold.

I will forever insist that Gary absolutely needs to make a comeback!! It’s my dad’s name and I think it’s just lovely! Names are only “dated” until you bring them back! :)
