[Facts] To Mike: About the gender of the name Engel
I just noticed that you reverted the gender of Engel from "Masculine & Feminine" to "Masculine" again. I wonder did you do that? It was a Unisex name before and now as of December 07 2022, it is not a Unisex name anymore. This name can also be used as a Feminine name in Germany and several other countries, making this name Unisex. I am just wondering why in December 07 2022 did you decide to revert the name's gender to just Masculine?https://www.popular-babynames.com/name/engel

http://www.meertens.knaw.nl/nvb/populariteit/naam/EngelThis was a popular Feminine name in Germany in the late Middle Ages.
https://www.beliebte-vornamen.de/1701-1495-w.htmI also found an anonymous comment on this name that said this:
"According to all of my German name books, including "Duden. Lexikon der Vornamen", Engel is (or rather was, seeing as it has pretty much disappeared) a unisex name leaning strongly towards the feminine side.
As for the meaning, they say this:"A short form of names containing the element "Engel-", for example Engelbert, Engelhard or the nowadays extinct feminine names Engelheid and Engelburg.Originally, this name element meant "Angle, member of the Germanic people of the Angles", who took their name from their region of origin in northern Germany. Their name is said to be derived from Old High German and Old Saxon angul "hook for fishing; peak".
With the increasing Christianization of the Germanic tribes, however, it has gradually been associated with angelus "angel" and by the Middle Ages it was only seen as the German word for angel, "Engel"."By the way, all German nouns are capitalized, so the word "Engel" in the description of this name should be spelled with a capital E. [noted -ed]"And that comment got you to change the name to Unisex until December 07 2022, when you reverted it back. Now again, why did you change the gender of the Unisex name from "Masculine & Feminine" to "Masculine"?You can't judge a book by its cover!
