[Opinions] Hailey & Hayley (and other variations)
I recently made a poll (https://www.behindthename.com/polls/412422) asking people which spelling they preferred - Hailey or Hayley - as as well as where they're from. While I've seen Hayley in the U.S., Hailey definitely seems to be the preferred spelling here and in Canada, whereas other places prefer the "original." I'm going back and forth between these two. Then there's the simplified Haley, which *used* to be the most popular spelling in the U.S.; but whenever I read it I think of Haley Joel Osment, so it almost looks masculine to me. There are other variants, like Hailee - which might take off because of Hailee Steinfeld - but I think most of them look rather cutesy, even juvenile, so I'm not fond. (E.g.: Hailie looks like it's hailing, Haleigh looks like it should be pronounced "Hallie," then Hayleigh has too many letters, Haylee looks like "Hey Lee!" and finally Haylie is forever a little girl.)Anyway, what do you think of Hailey/Hayley? Which is your favorite spelling?Edit: I added a link to the poll.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381

My favorite spelling is Haylie, which is rather juvenile, but also looks established. Then, Hailey, which is in vogue but doesn't look too unusual, then traditional Hayley, then Haley, despite looking a bit incomplete, Haylee, Hailee, Hayleigh, Hailie and lastly Haleigh, which looks too... "trendeigh", lol.The name itself is not bad, but the spelling Hayley is rather dated. On another note, I've noticed Hailey has been taking off in non-English-speaking Europe: France, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands and even Sweden! Will it endure in the future?

I like Hailey. Hayley is too twangy and exaggerated, and Haley looks nice and simple but reads like Hallie more than Hailey. Haylie is okay, at least it's balanced, but it also just looks like dyslexic Hailey.
Hailie is very unbalanced.
Hailee, Haylee, etc. look too cutesy.
Haleigh and Hayleigh look ugly, Haleigh looks like it's pronounced Hallie like you said (same for Haley), and Hayleigh is also too much like "hay + neigh". Or a field of hay since leigh means a lea/meadow).
I went to school with a Halea which looks nice on paper but doesn't really read as Hailey. It looks more like ha-LAY-a.ETA: I'm from North America

I do prefer the original, Hayley, although Hailee is a guilty pleasure.Heh, I just looked it up and the actual village is Hailey, Oxfordshire, which rather legitimises that spelling!
