[Opinions] Thetis
What do you think of this ancient name borne by the mother of Achilles? I love the elemental ambiguity of the (possible) meaning, "one who places." I instinctively pronounce it to rhyme with "fetus" (not ideal, I know, LOL), but I'm not opposed to pronouncing it to rhyme with "lettuce" (also not ideal...).
Some combos:
Thetis Angelica
Thetis Arabella
Thetis Allegra
Thetis Aurora
Thetis Amabel
Thetis Marguerite
Thetis Winifred
Thetis Ginevra
Thetis Georgina
Thetis Georgiana
Thetis Raphaela
Thetis Renata
Thetis Caroline
Thetis Honoria
Thetis Fernanda
Thetis Emmeline
Thetis Lenora
Thetis Minerva
Thetis Marigold
Thetis Frederica
Thetis Hermione

I think it's really pretty
Reminds me of feet
Overall don't find it attractive in the least

I think it’s one of the most agreeable of the recent Grecian resurrections.
Wasn’t familiar with the mythology. I immediately assumed it was a man’s name. Reminds me of. Cletus.
I had a professor two years ago who was Greek and pronounced Thay-tiss.
I prefer the Italian forms of this name, Teti and Tetide(teh-TEE-deh).

I think I instinctively use the fetus pronunciation too, and you're right, it's not great! Maybe if we tweaked it to "THAY-tiss" - is that nicer??
Thetis Angelica looks great, they work together well. Theis is interesting because it's delicate but not in the usual lacy, fragile way - it's a bit odd, awkward and alien. Angelica has that same feeling of being half ethereal, half heavy blunt object.
Thetis Frederica is great for that too, and Thetis Emmeline! I like pairing Thetis with other eccentric Victorian type names, they mesh well.
Other ideas:
Thetis Thomasina
Thetis Gwendoline
Thetis Christabel
Thetis Almira
Thetis Lucinda
Thetis Isadora
Thetis Anneliese
Yeah, what a fun name!
