[Opinions] On a scale of 1 - 10, how dated is the name Angela?
On a scale of 1 - 10 (1 being "not at all" and 10 being "yes, absolutely"), how dated is the name Angela?
Does it feel extremely Gen X, or too "classic" to ever feel dated?

It is still a popular name in Mexico + Central America usually with the accent mark, Ángela. :D In English though, it's definitely dated to the 1950s.

8. I have never met a young Angela, only middle aged ones. I think of the fish from Shark Tale—a very pedestrian name for a boring side character.
I feel like it's a classic, although it didn't get to be really popular till about the sixties in the US. It's not as popular now as it was in the seventies and eighties, but it doesn't feel dated the way names like Jennifer, Brittany, Heather or even Nicole feel.
I'd give it a 3; Angela is very classy and wonderful!!

In the US, the name Angela was most popular from the late sixties through the seventies so it's "dated " to that period of time. However, I think it holds up well and has remained a pretty traditional choice. It's familiar but not overexposed. I don't mind the name but it won't get any points for being exciting. I would call it a solid choice. Rating: 6 out of 10.
I agree
I don't agree with the concept of a name being dated, but I think Angela is pretty timeless.
i agree.
