[Opinions] Gemma Rose
My coworker just welcomed his first child, Gemma Rose. Thoughts on the name?I like Gemma, because it feels easily recognizable, but at the same time, I don't think I've ever met a Gemma.

Rose is such a filler mn, but there are a few names, Gemma, Molly and Eden, where I love the mn Rose. Not a surprising choice, but still pretty.
I really dislike Gemma. It's just unattractive. Rose is the dullest middle name of all time.
I like it
I hate Gemma—it sounds so dumb to me.
I like Gemma, even though for me, it seems to have a little bit of the same sort of loud-older-gal vibe to it that Ruby or Evelyn or Janet does (which makes me not like those names as much). It seems charmingly warm and pretty, but not elegant. Like Daisy.Gemma Rose makes me think "means rose bud," because a gemma is a bud in biology (but, I'm wrong of course, because it doesn't mean a flower "bud," it means a kind of vegetative structure). Rose seems like a filler middle name next to Gemma, but of course it is a nice name.
I like it, but I would have preferred Emma Rose

I love it!!!
I think Gemma is cute. I think I've already met a Gemma Rose, so I'd say this is a pretty average name. My one critique is I don't think Rose fully matches the vibe of Gemma, which to me seems more cutesy, and Rose more mature and graceful, though they're both pretty. Overall the name is nice, not too remarkable in my opinion, but a good name for a girl.

Gemma feels very British to me; I've never heard it used here (in Canada). It's Emma-like, but more brassy in a dated 80s or early 90s way - probably because of that Jem cartoon I grew up watching!I like Gemma. It's quirky-cute in the same way something like Daisy, Poppy, or Sukie is; it's fun, it's a little hard to take it seriously but that is part of the charm. Gemma Rose is pretty if boring, but that happens so often when Rose is in the middle.
Gemma seem to be "fresh" and "new" in North America but in Britain it's considered "dated". Gemma was a popular name across the pond for many years so they were ahead of the curve. To me, when I hear Gemma Rose, I hear a description of a red gem rather than a name per se.
Ooh, that is interesting! It’s fun to see how name trends diverge across different countries.
