They're all over the map, style and era-wise.
Can you get more stereotypically Irish Catholic than Bridie without resorting to Mary?Kateri really stands out. It's a saint name, though not the saint's actual birth name. Kateri was a Mohawk (I think) Indian woman whose Mohawk? name meant something like "she gropes with her hands" because she was nearly blind. Kateri is a sort of Mohawk renndering of Katherine.I actually know a Kateri, she's probably in her fifties and of Italian descent. I like the name better than Katherine, but it sure seems out of place in this family.
I like all including parents except Bridie, Kateri, prefer Susannah and Selena
Yikes! I hope for their mother's sake that there was at least one multiple; preferably triplets.Interesting boy names: all biblical except for William. But except for Suzannah (allowing for spelling) and perhaps Evelyn as an elongated version of Eve, the girls don't have biblical names.I like Thomas, William, Felicity, Susannah (family spelling), Evelyn.I dislike Sam, Bridie (but Bridget is lovely), Kateri (really doesn't fit with the others), Charlotte and Andrew.
All singletons! But she seemed to be genuinely happy about it (they are expecting another baby now).
Double yikes! Did they get married at sixteen??
She was 20, I think.
It’s an interesting variety of names- to me it feels like Thomas, Sam (if it had been Samuel), William, Charlotte, Andrew, Evelyn and Joseph are all very classic but still suitable in the modern day, while Bridie, Suzannah, Felicity, Celina, Kateri and Rita definitely feel much more different. It seems like they got more adventurous with the girls names than the boys.
I like Felicity, Andrew, Celina, Evelyn and Joseph best, and I would like Susanna and Birdie. Kateri really interests me, I’ve never heard it before!
