Doesn’t sound like an old man’s name at all. It’s a beautiful, classic, feminine name. It’s actually my favourite girl name.

Why is it reminiscent of an old man's name? I've never heard that before.

Ruby is a fine name and in fashion again as are gemstone names like Opal and Coral.

I imagine a Ruby to be spunky, curious, a little mischievous and a girl who is not afraid to speak her mind. She also a bit of a tomboy so she likes sports and climbing trees. She loves a good walk so she can soak up the sounds and sights of nature.

Jewel names are fashionable, and Ruby is quite ordinary. I don't like it, or any jewel names, but many people do.

Have you checked the stats for Ruby? It's been popular again for a while now. It wouldn't be strange on a child at all.
