According to a study by the website called Nameberry, here are some names that are disproportionately used in Blue States (Democrat & Liberal). These "Blue States" welcome global diversity.

Well, it's NameBerry, so everything should be taken with plenty of salt.
Since you can only get the top 100 for any state via the SSA site, I'd be interested to know how many of these names are actually in the top 100 for any of the states.
And which names appear on the top 100 lists in both red and blue states.

The blue state names are more religious with Miriam / Mirayam, Muhammad, Aisha, Yusuf, Ibrahim, Ali, and Santino. In contrast, not a single one of the red state names are associated with any religion that I'm aware of with the possible exception of Gracelyn, which is sort of a virtue name. The red state names are surnamey and occupational plus an apparent love of oak trees.
I find this fascinating because red states are supposed to be more religious.
Blue have more religious diversity though, as per those names imply
I vastly prefer the first batch of names with my favorites being Fiona, Mira, Paige, Santino, Ari & Ali.
I absolutely do not care for the names in the red states as I don't care much for really trendy, modern fad type names which is what the list is mainly comprised of. If I had to pick a few however, I'd go with Tripp & Hattie.

I'll also add that there are a couple users on here that ik are southern american but I like their kids names too, but again, not like the names on those lists imo
Yeah, those names aren't bad. Not my style, but not bad at all.
I am the same as you the only ones that I like on the red side are Hattie. Mayyyybeee Briggs or Sutton on a certain day in a certain mood. Sutton I might like as a F middle name if paired right. Admittedly, I liked Gracelyn as a teenager for a brief while cause I thought it could be a cheeky way to honor me without being too close lmao. Not anymore though.
On the blue I like Kieran, Ari, Nico, Fiona, Liana, Mira, Miriam, Nina, Aisha

The theme is "wanting to maintain tradition but having some Modern unconventionalism." That's the kind of flavors you get from that recipe. Imo, "having your cake and eating it too", but not for the better.
"Why are the red states so obsessed with -ley names?" Because it has a "sound" similar to traditional southern American names without authentically being them. Traditional southern american with *modern* flare. That's my understanding at least based on conversations with southern family members.
