About a year ago I went down this rabbit hole of thinking I'd figured out "the pattern" of which names get popular over time based on where they are charting. After practically making one of those serial killer yarn boards, I came up with this theory that a name which is already on the rise but is currently around the 200-300 slot will be Very Popular in 25 years.

Of course boy trends are always much more stable than girls, and I am sure that stuff like James, William, Daniel and Jack will still be popular as usual. I wonder if certain nickname will change, though - like Jay, Jim and Jimmy might return. Also, some names that are already getting popular, like Ezra, Leo, Elias, Miles will probably keep rising.

Of course, I am still convinced that 1930s/1940s-glam names will be coming back into vogue. So stuff that sounds like a character from a black and white movie of any kind, like Faye, Mae, Bonnie, Meredith, Lila, Maxine, Murphy, Rhea, Margo, Marcela, Louise, Mavis. For boys, something like Allen, Edward and Edwin, Louis, Jonas, Conrad, Samson, Osbourne/Oswald, Bruce, Pierce, Roy, Ledger, Miller, Albert. Maybe that's what will be popular in 2100.
