A few days ago, I made a post (https://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/5547724) with a collection of English names, with popular to somewhat common use, that could be written with little to no interruption in cursive. I omitted drop-letters, and anything that needed to be dotted or crossed, from that list.

In one of the replies, however, someone stated they knew somebody why had chosen the "Lynsey" spelling for their daughter instead of the more traditional way (Lindsay or Lindsey) because they thought it made a better signature. When I'd included drop-letters ("y" among them) in my omissions, that had been because I was considering writing the name in lines of text, where it could complicate the text below. (So basically, I was trying to gather "considerate names" in one place, lol.) I hadn't been thinking about signatures--and, honestly, drop-letters make for dramatic signatures!
