Help[Opinions] A name pronounced eye-lee (Islie, Isley?) - need some help :)
I like eye-lee. How would you spell it?
And do you like it?
Do you know whether Islie or Isley could be pronounced eye-lee? There's the surname Isley, which I like, but not sure if it's eye-lee or eyes-lee.
Would appreciate some research, I'm not really getting any further on the issue. All I know is that Islay (with an A) is pronounced eye-la.

I would spell it Ayli.
I don't like it, but have opened up more to Isla. I would spell it Eiley. I naturally read Isley and Islie as ice-lee at first glance. I think it would be mispronounced a lot in The States if spelled with an S. Their similarity to the Islay spelling is also what puts me off because they are not meant to sound identical.
Eily and yes I like it.
Second choice I guess would be Islie, which doesn't make me read "iz-lee" or "eyes-lee" because it looks vaguely Scottish (sim. to Leslie) and at the same time reminds of Isla / Islay.
Isley looks like a surname to me, nms - the Isley Brothers (so I read it as "eyes-lee" because that's how their name is pronounced).
Eiley also has a surnamey look to me but I would say it "eye-lee."
-ley in general gives me a less feminine vibe, which is fine, but if I'm naming it's usually a bit less appealing than -y.
I would say Eilidh as "ay-lee" and anyway would not use it unless that final phoneme felt natural to me.

I would spell it as Isley or Eiley. Both are cute, but I only like them as nicknames.
I had a distant aunt Eileen whose husband sometimes called her Eily.

BtN says it's EH-lee.
It's extremely popular in Scotland and every single one I've ever met said ay-lee. Maybe that's actually incorrect, who knows, but English speakers can usually not say the EH sound and say AY instead, such as lay-a for Léa etc.

It could be Ailey or Eiley, but if it's short for Isla or used as a version of Isla I think it could be Isley.
I think Isley is pronounced eyes-lee. I think Eiley is a good suggestion.
