[Surname] Kvedaravičius
Kvedaravičius is a Lithuanian surname, borne by the journalist Mantas Kvedaravičius. What does this surname mean? Also, I listed the feminine forms as Kvedaravičiutė and Kvedaravičiunė. Please correct me if I'm wrong about those (I'm not familiar with Lithuanian name patterns). https://surnames.behindthename.com/name/kvedaravic18ius/submitted

On Lithuanian Wikipedia I've found a person named Antanas Kvedaravičius who is also called by the Polonized version of their name, Antoni Kwiedorowicz.https://lt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antanas_Kvedaravi%C4%8DiusKwiedorowicz is possibly a variant of Chwiedorowicz or Chwedorowicz, which come from Chwiedor or Chwedor, forms of the name Fyodor (see https://nazwiska.ijp.pan.pl/haslo/show/name/CHWEDORUK).

It means “son of Kvedara”, since the -avičius suffix indicates that it’s patronymic. This is the link: https://www.lithuaniancatholicancestorsearch.com/--about-forms-of-lithuanian-surnames.html. There’s also stuff there about female Lithuanian surname conventions.

Where does "Kvedara" come from? It's not on the site. I put it on there for now but it definitely needs more information. https://www.behindthename.com/name/kvedara/submitted

It actually comes from "Kvedaras", which (I was surprised to find) is an old Lithuanian form of Theodore. It may be borrowed from (if not, cognate to) Belarusian Хведор (Khvedor) or Ukrainian Хведір (Khvedir) which are also old forms of Theodore in those languages.Source: https://pavardes.lki.lt/ (it is a fairly comprehensive source for any Lithuanian surnames)Edit: Kvedara is another variant though
