Searching Ancestry, all exact matches for Tremher seem to come from Wisconsin or Minnesota with the original spelling Tremper. Also according to Ancestry (see here: https://www.ancestry.ca/name-origin?surname=tremper), Tremper originates from German "Trömper" meaning "trumpeter" or "drummer".

It exists, I know someone with that last name. I also think it sound German but I don't know for sure.

I'm pretty sure it's German (or some kind of Germanic). I don't know what it means though.
