[Opinions] Re: Interesting Sightings pt. 6
in reply to a message by Higuma
Karemi - I really struggle to say it any way that doesn't make it sound like I'm saying 'creamy' in a strange way... which does put me off quite a bit.
Maiah - that 'h' is so unneccessary.
Serrath - very fantasy-esque.
Dorian - not a fan on a girl.
Starlotte - made me wince. It's also gotta be a life of correcting people 'STARlotte not CHARlotte'. Nah.
Kaibrienne - nope.
Daryn - haha, Darren is a very clunky and unfeminine name. The y doesn't save it.
Crystalina - so frilly in such a unclassy way, eugh.
Summerisa - really?
Whitnye - just looks like a typo.
Bayron - ditto.
Odysseas - looks like you can't spell Odysseus. Or is it Od-y-seas?
Saxon - agressively masc. Almost like there's a point to prove.
Interesting to see both Betzaida and Betzaira. I don't hate either.
Migbelis - very unfortunate mish-mash. That 'mig' start is just unappealing.
Marlin - kinda neat, kinda Finding Nemo.
Mireddys - fantasy-esque again, and vaguely Welsh with the -ddys, no idea how to say it though
I like:
Isabeau - not as much as Isabel or Isabelle these days though.
Léandre
Lucretia - far prefer Lucrezia
Everardo
Astraea
Cyréna
Korina
Sumera
Betzaida / Betzaira

Karemi I believe was pronounced ka-REH-mi
Betzaida and Betzaira were sisters. They had other siblings but I didn't catch their names.

See, in my accent that really sounds quite like I'm saying 'crEAMY', only a bit off. It's very close. Other accents will vary ofc, but I can't make it sound anything other than... creamy.
I like them separately, but ok, no, I really hate Betzaida and Betzaira as siblings. Giving your kids the same name as their sibling with only the slightest change gives me the ick. I also get sorta icky about closely matchy/rhyming twin names, like John and Johanna or Olivia and Oliver, so it's not just that these are less common names, and tbh this is even closer with just one letter difference.
