[Opinions] Re: Top 10 for February!
in reply to a message by Wordsmith
Out of curiosity: someone is still going to compile the stats from the 2024 set of posts, right?
Anyway, there was a major overhaul in my feminine list for this month (not as much change for the masculine list):
Alistair
Dominic
Donovan
Finn
Isaac
Malcolm
Nicholas
Richard
Thomas
Wesley
&
Audrey
Elaine*
Josephine
Julia
Lauriana
Miranda
Sabrina
Tallis
Veronica*
Willow
(Names with an asterisk are ones I cannot use in real life, at least not as first names.)
Alistair, Thomas, Audrey, Julia, Tallis, Veronica, and Willow replace Adrian, Asa, Frances, Rose, Sylvana, Vanessa, and Zoe.
Tallis is a GP that I've stopped considering a GP. It sounds enough like Alice without being as melancholic as Alice can sometimes be that I don't think it would sound odd "in the wild." And Lauriana is a recent addition to this site that makes sense in light of other Ancient Roman names like Juliana, Liviana, Tatiana, etc., so I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before, on my own. But I think it's lovely (and Laurie is a cute nickname).

I have known a girl named Tallis before, it was nice on her but I prefer Alice as well.
