[Opinions] Bible
This was a while ago, but I forgot to post about it. A girl in one of my classes was telling her friends that her mum originally planned on naming her Bible! She was defending the name, saying it’s cute, but her friends all said it was like naming your kid God. Of course I can’t confirm whether the girl was messing with her friends, though she seemed genuine about it.
What do you think of the name Bible? If you had to use it, what middle name would you go for?

Based on sound, it is a bit better than Book or Scroll or Scribal as a name, but it still doesn't sound namey to me. Using a name from the Bible or choosing a name that reflects a Biblical principle is a lot more standard in my country/culture. That said, it is still better than being called Babe.
Even though I’m a Christian I wouldn’t name a child Bible. There are plenty of Biblical names to use instead.
There's a few at findagrave, plus Bibles Ruberta, Bibley, Bibler, Bibleona, Bibleesko.

I know of a half jewish-british half swedish girl named "Torah", and an israeli girl named Oraita (Torah in aramaic)
It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, though I think it’s a lucky escape.
Maybe someone in a fundamentalist cult would use it.
Awful. I hope she was joking. There are plenty of biblical names out there to use, so there's no excuse for this even if you are very religious.
