[Opinions] Eric vs Erica
Wdyt of Eric?Wdyt of Erica?

Eric is nice, but too basic for my taste.
Erica is pretty, but not a favorite. It is one of the better feminizations though. I'm not rocking with Jamesina or Mitchelle.
I was surprised to see that both Eric and Erica (and their variants with K) are now considered dated in the US. In my country they still feel fresh.Anyway, I like Eric but I also find it bland, Erik looks rough, I like Erica (especially because of the connection with the heather plant) and I love Erika.
I like both names are nice.
Eric is a steady sort of dated-classic to me, along the lines of Michael. It feels vaguely out of fashion, but in a soft way. It's handsomely bland.Erica is nice - I actually don't think I've ever met one! I feel about Erica the same way I do Fiona, Robin, Tara, and Sabrina. I recognize that technically, they aren't uncommon, but they also sort of have a gently magical-rare status because I haven't met many at all. If I saw Erica in a newborn's name combo, I would probably be surprised and find it delightful.
I like both names, but I have increasingly come to view them as a bit bland.Eric is lovely. It's also... kind of insubstantial.I don't know that I encountered more than one person named Erica in my personal life; I encountered SEVERAL named Erika. I thought Erika was beautiful for a very long time. Nowadays I think it's lovely but almost overused in my personal circle.I do increasingly think that the syllables and sounds here just come across as a bit bland. (I'm really into "N" sounds in names and the lack of that in both of these is striking.)But I wouldn't hate to seek them on a child!I don't love other variants much - Erik is fine, but I've encountered both Erick and Eriq and don't like either of those, and Ericka looks really wrong to me.
Well... I'm an Erica! It feels quite 80s/90s most of the time, and very bright pink, as well--strong, but also girly/girlish (as opposed to just feminine). It's a loud name, doesn't blend into the background at all. As a child I didn't like my name, but now I feel it fits me entirely. The most famous Erica is probably the soap opera villainess Erica Kane from All My Children (where my mom got the name idea, anyway). My impressions of my own name probably color my perception of Eric, because while the sound is strong, I find the written form a bit weak. (While I don't usually prefer Ks to Cs, I think Erik looks more substantial--and also more evocative of Vikings.) Eric Foreman is probably the most famous modern Eric... either him, or Eric Roberts.
I like both names. I like Eric a little more.
I like both!
I like both well enough.
Eric is okay, although a bit common. Erica is fine.
Eric seems dated and drab; Erica is pretty and usable.
I like Eric / Erik and Erica (this spelling only) but they don't have the same feel.
Good names, not my style for some reason. I considered both when looking for an "E" name to honour my brother. I don't dislike either name, but I found many options I like better, so they didn't make the list.
Erica is a bit common for me to use. Eric, I love, not super common today.
Eric (that spelling) is a favorite of mine and I also really like Erica (also in this spelling), but I keep forgetting to add it to my PNL, so I'll do that right after posting my reply.
Eric is ok, Erica is also ok but it has very different feel than Eric.I prefer Erik / Erika but I do not see anyhting wrong with version with c
Neutral about Eric. I Like Erica alot. I see it as a botanical name and think it's pretty.
