[Opinions] Re: Eric vs Erica
in reply to a message by Janan
Well... I'm an Erica! It feels quite 80s/90s most of the time, and very bright pink, as well--strong, but also girly/girlish (as opposed to just feminine). It's a loud name, doesn't blend into the background at all. As a child I didn't like my name, but now I feel it fits me entirely. The most famous Erica is probably the soap opera villainess Erica Kane from All My Children (where my mom got the name idea, anyway). My impressions of my own name probably color my perception of Eric, because while the sound is strong, I find the written form a bit weak. (While I don't usually prefer Ks to Cs, I think Erik looks more substantial--and also more evocative of Vikings.) Eric Foreman is probably the most famous modern Eric... either him, or Eric Roberts.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381
