[Opinions] Lina, Linna and Linnéa
Lina and Linnea were the most popular names in my Lin-poll.
Nobody liked the Zulu Lindiwe ("have waited") and only one the Albanian Lindita ("the day is born"). Maybe b/c nobody knew how to pronounce Lindiwe. I don't know either but I would say "lin-DEE-weh" until corrected. But what about Linna? Linna is actually a Finnish surname ("castle") but I think that it would be fine as fn too.So which do you like best:
Lina (LEE-nah)
Linna (LINN-ah)
Linnea (Li-NEH-ah)"But it’s all right now.
I learned my lesson well.
You see you can’t please everyone
So you got to please yourself."

Linnéa (Linnea) is my absolute favorite. It sounds so pretty and feminine. I like Lina, too, but it sounds a bit like a nn. I don't like surnames as fns, but Linna isn't that easy to identify.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

I think Lindiwe and Lindita are okay. I love their meanings! My favorite, though, is definitely Linnea. Linna would be second, and then Lina.

I like Linna, Linnea, then Lina, in that order.Linna is beautiful. It's crisp and clean and makes me think of a young painter, the colour white, and the number 6.

I love them all, especially Linnéa, because my Mum's name is Lyn and I thought it would be a good way of honouring her in the future. "A world where Sting asked if the Russians loved their children too and we knew the answer was yes" - Excerpt from Looking for Alibrandi.

I like Lina best. Linna is very nice, but I can't stand Linnea. I like Lindiwe, too.

My friend is called Lindiwe. The way she pronounces it sounds a little more like lin-dee-way. The emphasis is not so much on the middle syllable as you have written it. I keep saying it to myself and the middle syllable seems the least emphasised and the other two equally so, if that makes sense.I like Lina and Linnea, I think I like Lina better.

I LOVE Linnea. It's one of my top ten girl names.Lina and Linna are nice too, but Linnea is the only one I'd use myself.

Lina, Linna, and Linnea are pretty names. Linnea is my favorite out of the three.

Linnea is my favourite girl name, period. If I'll ever get a daughter, her name will definitely be Linnea.I'm Finnish, so Linna is a bit too much of a word and a surname to me. Lina is OK, but I find it a little too plain.

But what about Vanamo?I read that Vanamo is Finnish for linnéa, the twinflower."But it’s all right now.

Yes, it is. Vanamo is a nice name, too, but I don't like it even nearly as much as I like Linnea. The main reason I love the name Linnea is because I love the way it sounds and looks, so it's not just the association to the flower that I find appealing.

How is Vanamo pronounced? With the stress on the first syllable, VAN-ah-mo?"But it’s all right now.

I adore Linnea! Lina is too nicknamey for me. I hate surnames as first names, but I wouldn't know that Linna was a surname. It's okay. It reminds me of Glenna and Brenna, which are other compacted names (from Glenda and Brenda).

Definitely Linnea! It's a beautiful name! Btw, I was the one who voted for Lindita aswell! ;-) I think it's beautiful aswell!
