I like them both in theory, but Liesel does sound like diesel.
I like Lieselotte better, but it could sound like "lies-a-lot" depending on pronunciation, though I say LEES-el-lot. I love the look of the spelling on this name.
Picking a middle name for Lieselotte is tricky. There are so many syllables, it's like speaking with a mouth full of marbles. I think I prefer a middle name with fewer syllables for the sake of clarity and ease. It's not easy to get a good flow with this name.
