I love the name Lindsey/Lindsay (fave spelling is Lindsay). In fact, it's in our top three for girls right now. Some people might think it's a bit dated but those seem to be my favorite names-80's/90's names. I still think it works well now and in fact know of a few baby Lindseys. So pretty!
Lindsay
I like it, its one of my middle names. I was born in 1980, so I suppose it could be considered an 80s name, but it was a family name for me. It was my mother's middle name as well, because Lindsay was her mother's maiden name. So its gone through a few generations in my family. But I don't think of it as "in-your-face" 80s as Jennifer, Heather or any of the variations of Katelyn.
I prefer it spelled Lindsay for a girl because it just looks more feminine in my opinion. As my grandmother's maiden name it was spelled Lindsey, but they changed it to Lindsay for my mother's middle name, and mine.

I don't think it's outdated at all, I actually rather like it! It's definitely still usable - a modern classic in my view, and something I can see as easily on a three-year-old as I can on a thirty-year-old. That, to me, is how you know a name works.
Both spellings are nice, but Lindsey looks better to me.

It's outdated for a girl (too 80's), but it would be refreshing on a boy. I definitely wouldn't use it for a girl, but I could consider for a boy.
I don't consider it to be outdated...it was more popular for a girl in the 70s and 80s, but I don't think it stands out. I personally prefer the sp. Lyndsey, and yes, I could still see a baby with this name.

Lindsay/Lindsey seems very 1980s and 1990s for a girl, imo. I like it better for a boy, though it's not something I love enough to use. I'm partial to the Lindsay spelling for some reason.

I don't think it is outdated.
I would spell it like this : Lyndsey

Yes, Lindsey, that is my name. I am partial to that spelling. I don't know how you get the long "e" sound out of the "ay" in Lindsay. You can still name your daughter this in my opinion!
