[Opinions] I can *not believe* no one has yet suggested Stevie Nyx!
I thought y'all were dedicated name nerds, honestly! *LOL*Okay, that was too easy. Let's get serious a minute. It's easier, obviously, to make Nyx a mn because it's one syllable, and it ends in X, making it tough to put it before any number of letters. Like S, for example, which gets buried by the X sound. But heck, let's get the hard part out of the way, try making it a fn first. Probably best in front of vowels, mostly. And Greek ones at that. Now, you know me. I always do alliteration and assonance. Being thus forewarned, do any of these grab you?Nyx Acacia
Nyx Adora
Nyx Alanis
Nyx Alicia
Nyx Alexandra
Nyx Anastasia
Nyx Anise
Nyx Anne (focus with me, don't let yourself hear Nixon!)
Nyx Anthea
Nyx Antonia
Nyx Appollonia
Nyx Ariadne
Nyx Claire (clear night - now c'mon, that's pretty)
Nyx Carys (it's the Ys)
Nyx Elena
Nyx Elisabeth
Nyx Eudoxia (hey, why not; it's the 2 Xs attracting me, of course)
Nyx Katera
Nyx Katharine
Nyx Katrienne
Nyx Laryssa (I know, I know, Larissa; but the Ys look nice together)
Nyx Linnea
Nyx Lynnette
Nyx Lyric
Nyx Lysandra
Nyx Olympia (I feel like this is pretty perfect, frankly)
Nyx Onyx (oh, like you didn't think of it!)
Nyx Ophelia
Nyx Oriana (ironic)
Nyx Pacifica
Nyx Rhiannon
Nyx Romaine
Nyx Roxanne (it's those Xs again)
Nyx Tatiana
Nyx Trinity (a single nod to pop culture - and I think it sounds nice)
Nyx Urania
Nyx Ursula
Nyx Ysandre
Nyx Yvette
Okay, having jumped through the smaller, higher, flaming hoop, now it's a cakewalk to the list of fn's to come in front of Nyx. (Besides Stevie.) Pretty much anything long and ending in a vowel will do, imo. Many of the ones in the list above could be flipped to fn's. Here's a sampling of other ones I like. (Remember how I groove on alliteration and assonance.)Althea Nyx
Angelica Nyx
Ariadne Nyx
Artemis Nyx (especially perfect, imo, my favorite on this list)
Callista Nyx
Calypso Nyx (got the Y thing workin for us again)
Cecily Nyx (blind night)
Felicity Nyx
Elektra Nyx
Elissa Nyx
Frederica Nyx
Jessica Nyx
Letitia Nyx
Lucinda Nyx
Maia Nyx (Maia [1])
Nephele Nyx (Pavlos might like this)
Pandora Nyx (simply awesome, in my humble opinion)
Persephone Nyx (I really like this)
Phoebe Nyx (which only sounds like Stevie Nicks)
Selena Nyx
Tinuviel Nyx (means nightingale - very lovely combo, again imho)
Veronica Nyx
Victoria Nyx
I hope one of these sparks your imagination.:-)

I sit with four books in my lap in front of my screenSometimes it takes me two hours to answer one post! *LOL* But honestly, I think of it as linguistic sudoku. I find it very relaxing. And when an OP really catches my imagination, as Nyx did (honest to goodness, my first thought was Stevie Nyx!), I very much enjoy creating combo lists like this. And frequently end up adding one or two to my collection! After all, I did it for you, but I did it, so I don't feel guilty about sometimes keeping a combo I've made for someone else. Besides which, I'll never use any one I create-then-keep, because I've had all my kids. Plus, I'm one who happens to think that name combos don't belong to anyone anywhere, no matter who thnks they made them up first (certain people's rants about certain names get under my skin - like no one else could ever in a million years come up with it - whatever).I have a whole name category (which I didn't post the other day) called "inspired by other people's favorite names." I have Hawkeye Scirocco on it because of Array, for example. In this case I'm having a hard time deciding amongst Artemis Nyx, Pandora Nyx and Persephone Nyx, but leaning toward the first.Anyway, I'm quite pleased you like the list! That's really what keeps me comin back. Cheers!:-)~Lillian~

Well, it is much appreciated! Even if I don't plan on seriously using a name, I love bouncing it around, seeing what others think and of course, finding combos with it. Even if I don't take a name seriously at first, the right combo can change that.
