Help[Opinions] WDYTO Cassius?
I was watching 'Bringing Home Baby' yesterday and was so surprised to see this name, Cassius given to a baby boy! His parents pronounced it kash-us and I just thought it was so new and fresh and perfectly lovely! Immediately it sounded Greek to me, but now looking at it I see it's technichly Ancient Roman and doesn't have a very appealing meaning, "empty, vain".
So WDYTO it and what middle names immediately pop into your head with it? I almost picture Cassius Alexander.

It's such a cool name. It's on my name list, actually! I love this name and I don't mind the meaning because, after all, four saints were named this so it doesn't have to apply that everyone named this is empty and vain. Cassian Alexander is an awesome combo, very regal.

I love Cassius. I prefer the pronunciation KAS-ee-us, but either way I still think it's lovely.

Honestly, how many people would know the meaning? That's what I consider when I find a name I like whose meaning is not very appealing. And since Cassius was an ancient Roman gens, it will likely have a story surrounding its origin that will explain the literal meaning.
I don't particularly like the sound of Cassius, but it's not terrible. Cassius Alexander is great!

I really like Cassius prn either way, although I prefer Kash-us slightly. I think of Gaius Cassius and Dio Cassius, a cospirator agains Caesar and a historian respectively. Cassius Alexander is nice, very stately even though I'm not a big fan of Alexander.
