[Opinions] Maeniel & Kerenza
WDYT of the name Maeniel? How would you pronounce it?The name Maeniel comes from one of my favorite male characters who appears in my favorite book, and is in two series by Alice Borchardt.I'm not certain what it means or how to pronounce it correctly. I tend to vary between MAN-ee-el and MAY-nee-el.
Also, I'm thinking about Kerenza again. Opinions? I also posted a poll about it: http://www.behindthename.com/polls/view.php?id=66916
Edited to specify that Maeniel is a male name, and Kerenza is a female name.

Kerenza / Kerensa is a favorite of mine but Maeniel when I try to say it reminds me of manual as in car manual

I've never seen Maeniel but it just looks confusing, imo. :-/ I love Kerenza, but prefer the Kerensa spelling for some reason.

Maeniel - I'd pronounce it MAY-nee-el. I don't like it, it looks and sounds like it's part of the random-combination-of-prettyish-sounds-and-letters trend for girls, like Braynella, Shailayna, Kaeleena ad nauseum. Which is a pity, as it seems to be a name that has meaning for you, coming from a favourite book.Kerenza - a new favourite of mine too, though I prefer the spelling Kerensa. I'm not usually a fan of 'K' names but there is something stunning about Kerenza/Kerensa.

Kerenza sounds like a camp. Camp Kerenza! I don't feel it. And I think Maeniel, to me, is pronounced MAY nee el
If you're looking for different. That's the name to use!

Oh...thats odd. When I tried to pronounce this it started to sound like maniac. But I think it would be pronounced May-nee-elle. Is it a male or female name?
