I thought of that, except our inquirer said her name was feminine, which threw me.But Charlotte is absolutely correct about "Tomer " being another form of "Tamar ". I just checked the Hebrew spellings of both names, and both "Tomer " and "Tamar " actually are the same name.I think Charlotte deserves a point. :)-- Nanaea

Oops, waitaminnit....Just checked those two names again, and there is a difference in the Hebrew spellings. However, Rabbi Alfred J. Kolatch, author of *The New Name Dictionary: Modern English and Hebrew Names* says that the masculine *and* feminine name of Tomer is "a variant form of Tamar ".-- Nanaea
