I've fallen for Nimue (NIM-oo-ay) as a middle name. WDYT of the combo Kira Nimue and the name Nimue in general? Is Nimue too notorious within Athurian legend to use for an actual child? Also, any suggestions regarding middle names for Kira would be appreciated. I prefer unusual names, such as Briallen, rather than something like Catherine or Charlotte. I plan on using Briallen as a middle name for another first name though. Thanks.

Nimue is lovely. I don't think it's too notorious, since few people actually know the legend well enough to be able to associate Nimue with it. I like neither Kira nor Briallen, though, and I don't think either name macthes Nimue.

I adore it. It's one of my very favorites and I am constantly trying to talk myself into using it as a fn. But I'd probably use it as a mn too.

I have "met" one Nimue. A fellow photography in an online forum I belong to has a daughter named Nimue. She's 7 or 8 now. They live it New Zealand. I was so, so excited to see the name in use. It makes me happy that someone somewhere has used it.

Kira Nimue is very pretty.

I rather like Nimue, have ever since I first saw it. You can at least be sure the girl won't have another kid with her name ANY time in school... :) I also think the legend behind it lends charm to it, and as long as it's paired with something fairly "tame" (Kira is great with it, BTW), it shouldn't seem too grandiose.
