[Opinions] Isidore / Isidora / Isadora
I've become fascinated with this name. It's so rarely used for either gender and I think it has a beautiful sound and looks nice.
I can't decide whether I prefer Isidora or Isadora, but I'm leaning towards the second one. I remember reading in A Series of Unfortunate Events about Isadora and her brother Duncan, and I thought that was so cool, but I could never use it.
What are your opinions on the name, both for male and female variations? Any mns that are just perfect? TIA.
ETA: I was also wondering what you think of Robin on a boy. I don't love it for a girl, but I love it for a boy.

I like it a lot more than the saccharine and excessively frilly Isabella. But I don't like how it sounds like the sentence "is a door," not that that really makes sense. Also Isadore is a bore-uh.
Still I like it enough for someone else, that's just the kind of stuff that keeps it off my own favorites list.
Is that a coincidence or is there some kind of meaning behind the siblings being Isadora and Duncan in those books? Because obviously Isadora Duncan, the dancer, comes to mind.
I love Robin as a boys name. It surprises me because after many, many years as this being used more for females, it still seems to work very well on males imo. Maybe it's the strong association with Robin Hood. I love it.

In the books...
I'm pretty sure the author just snuck that in as a little joke, as it doesn't seem to have any bearing on the story.

Why, thank you!
I like Isadore and Isadora. I don't mind the Isidore and Isidora spellings but I don't like them as much as Isadore and Isadora. Robin is okay and I have no preference when it comes to which sex it's used for.

I like Isadora and Isadore, but not Isidora and Isidore. They just don't look as nice to me.
I think Isador(e/a) is really great on either sex, especially with the nn Izzy.

I love the name Isadora. It's beautiful and not overused. It's a wonderful alternative to Isabella or Isabelle, imo. Isidore is nice as well, though I would never consider using it for my children.
I prefer Robin on a girl. Robin Williams is my favorite actor but I still prefer the name on a girl.
Middle name suggestions:
Isadora Beatrice
Isadora Eve
Isadora Genevieve
Isadora Rowena
Isadora Kathleen
Isadora Lillian
Isadora Noelle
Isadora Willow
Isidore Bradley
Isidore Frederick
Isidore Patrick
Isidore Thomas
