[Opinions] Ireland
Ireland is becoming more than just a guilty pleasure for me lately. Wdyt? Does it scream "I'm obsessed with being Irish" (because I'm not, lol) ? I think it has a beautiful sound and I could see it on a little girl and a grown woman. Opinions? Thanks :)

Its a GP of mine but I would never ever use it. I just think it has a pretty sound and I love my second home of Ireland.
Does it scream "I'm obsessed with being Irish?" Not exactly, but close. I think it screams either "I really, really love Ireland," or, "I really love the sound of the word 'Ireland' and know nothing about the place Ireland."
I'm generally not a fan of place names but think if one is going to use a place name one should have a connection to that place.

What's strange about the name Ireland is that it's often used with the idea of honoring Ireland in some way. But why use the English name for Ireland as a tribute to Ireland? No Irish person would use Ireland as a name. That's what "Erin" is for. So while I can see it's appeal, sound-wise... it's just a strange, strange idea for a name, IMO. I'd keep it as GP.

I hate myself for admitting I like it, but I do. I don't think I could ever use it, but something about is just so nice. It's soft and flowing in such a nice "I hate it that I like it" way.

I'm not a fan of place names, unless they are already really well known as people's names, like Austin. Ireland is to me like Paris or London or Cairo, etc, - a place to visit.
ETA - Elemmennope has the right idea about the -land ending.

A place name that actually contains the word "land" is taking the fad too far.
I don't like it at all.
I don't like it at all.
I don't see it as any different than naming a baby London,Paris or Roman.
I like the name Ireland! It's more of a GP for me, but I do think that it's a nice name. There's just something about it that appeals to me. I could see it on a little girl or on a grown woman, though I must admit that when I hear it, I immediately think of Alec Baldwin & Kim Bassinger's daughter, Ireland.

I'm not a fan of word names, and place names fall into that category. Sorry.
