[Facts] Re: Welcome, Tracie!

I will try. I am currently triple majoring and am in the middle of several research papers. It will all be over some day, won't it?

Ask Phyllis! :)
You rang? (voiceover of Lurch from old Adams Family series)

The farther along in college you go, the more writing and research you have to do, but think about this: after a certain amount of time in school, you might get PAID to research (at least, you might get up to 9 credits and payment of your tuition from your college program JUST FOR RESEARCH) and the instructor might tell you what s/he wants you to look up, then basically leave you pretty much alone. :)

Brought me fond memories of my TA years in Washington :)
Bless you. There comes a time , or at least there has for me , when the words all start running together and the subjects are not distinct anymore. It is nice to know there might actually be a payoff. But I think I'll pass ont the research for anybody for any reason. My majors: Business and Computer Information Systems, Management, and Business Administration. These are just for my Associates for my Bachelors: Double major. Accounting and Finance. At least my girls will have a strong role model and my boy will respect strong women. Thanks.
My problem is that I get so caught up in what I'm researching that I get kicked out of the library (they have to close, you know). Just this past Tuesday, I found myself with a $25 fine for staying past hours at one of the local libraries (it's going to be a looooooooooooooooong time before I return THERE) and three weeks ago I was stranded where the bus lines stop going there at 7:30 pm (THAT was fun :P).
Ah, but YOU are going to be a valuable resource once you teach your kids how to open/heat up cans of soup (not to mention THEM).
Many blessings on your path

Thanks. I guess I have already done my duty. My children can not only make their own meals but clean the entire house (all but laundry). Wish I shared your love of researching but I do love to read. I hope to be well educated some day, you should be proud of yourself judging by your responses.
Not A Love For Research...
Tracie
I LOVE to read. I've started reading books that are @500 pages long and not stopped until I've finished the book. When it comes to research, I have to have a topic that intrigues me or somebody else must get me interested in the subject (either that or s/he has to challenge my "sense of adventure" i.e. rein me in).
Ah, sometimes what I'd give for a less inquiring mind (NO. NOT THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER).

PS Sorry for the tirade on the Enquirer.

Nobody Be Dissin' Da 'Quirer...
Phyllis,
Ya gotta have some respect for a rag that always got the advance season plots of "Dallas" (one of my former major weaknesses) right and broke the stories on the separate ex-officio philanderings of the Rev. Jesse James and Rosie O. (not that the LATTER was any surprise).

Too funny. I can't stop until I'm done either. I have even fixed entire meals without setting a book down. My husband hates it. He gets a little bit of the ackowledgement nods and "uh-huh's" and "yeah's". It drives him nuts. I don't mind research if it is my own but I hate assignments because it isn't voluntary I guess. Don't worry I hate gossip magazines(Can anyone really be that stupid?)I know what you mean about wanting a less inquiring mind though. What I would give to be normal like everyone else in my life and actually enjoy the same things they do. Hey, what if they are the ones that are not normal?
Tracie
#1. Who said anything about fixing meals while reading. I SKIP MEALS while reading.
#2. DON'T I WISH (concerning everyone else in our lives). I've been asked to research whatever questions come up in my house from "What causes diaper rash?" to "What causes violent behavior in dementia?" :pppp (I still think that the parents of a child should be the one to discuss certain aspects of life, not the aunt.)
Many blessings in your studies
