I think it's pretty although nothing I would ever use. But the right person could pull it off and it's definitely different. I don't see it as trendy at all.

I find it trendy, yes, but like most place names, it also seems a bit tacky to me. :-/

I love this as a girls name. It's one of my favourites.

Not only do I think it's trendy, but it means 'mountain' in Spanish which isn't exactly the loveliest of meanings unless mountains are special to you. With all the lovely, pretty girls names out there, I'd leave Montana to the state. ;)

I agree. There are other names which I consider to be far more trendier than Montana. I really like it. It's cute and a bit spunky. One of my favourite place names.
