Janey (this spelling only, please, cute as
Janie Gibbs of
Harriet the Spy is). Prefer it as a first name, because there aren't enough out there right now, though it's fine as a middle name, too. I love how
Jane can be stately as a queen (and has been, even), but she can also be indie, beat, or just plain old alternative at the same time.
Jane's a chameleon name--as comfortable in a letterjacket as in a pair of
Buddy Holly glasses. Maybe both at the same time. ;)
I'm not into any of those combos, myself.
