[Facts] Son's Name

I found my son's name in a baby book some 27 years ago. I know it is French. It's "Trevelyan" with an accent aigu on the first "e".
Someone told him it is medieval and a dead name not used any more. Like a dead language.
What's the scoop?
#Trevelyan
