[Opinions] Rhoda
I have really fallen in love with this name recently. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. :-)

I think of Mary Tyler Moore. I dislike the name because it sounds like rodent to me.
Reminds me of the woman in the Bible. It's an OK name, but I wouldn't use it.
I'm not overly fond of Rhoda. I think of the tv show and the main character when I hear the name.
This name makes me think of a poem by Jaroslav Seifert (a Czech who won the Nobel Prize for Lit in 1984), where he's mourning the destruction of Prague's ancient Jewish cemetery by the Nazis, and at one point in the poem, he's talking about some of the names on the stones and the lives they represented. One of them contains the line "Rhoda is the rose." Apart from this poignant poem, I do rather like the name.
I think it's really lovely and doesn't get the respect it deserves.
Array (Rhoda was her favourite character on Mary Tyler Moore)

and her sister, Mary Tyler, I presume? m
Sorry, but I loved the Mary Tyler Moore Show when I was younger, so I tend to think of her best friend from the show, Rhoda, when I hear the name. It's very 70s to me for that reason.
ETA: My subject line is meant in fun because it makes me smile to think of the show; I'm not trying to be snotty. :)

if we're being totally faithful to the show...
Rhoda's sister was named Brenda, I believe. (Thank goodness for Tv-land, right?)
When I hear the name I think of a really obnoxious, grating New York accent. I do't think Rhoda herself had that accent, but I know for sure her mother did.

Oh, I know they weren't sisters on the show; I just mean for a real-life person using the name Rhoda for a DD, they should use MT as a sister for irony. :)
Ooooh, GMTA. ;-)
it's alright, prefer Rhodes.
