Help[Opinions] Ariella
I've recently fallen in love with the name Ariella and I'm curious what others think of it. Is it too frilly, too princessy? Actually, I think it's a bit of those things as well but that's part of the attraction for me. What mns would you suggest? I rather like Ariella Jane because Jane brings the combo back down to earth somewhat. What sort of person do you imagine an Ariella to be?

Hmmm ... I was wondering if anyone would mention that. I've thought of it before. Since I'm pronouncing the name R-ee-el-a rather than AIR..., I'm hoping to avoid the similarity but I do see where you're coming from because I have negative associations with other names. Take the name Lydia, for example. To me, Lydia rhymes so with Chlamydia, that I just can't get past it.

I like it a lot. I knew a woman named Ariella when I was in college and she was a really awesome person.

I love the name Ariella...my number one fave girls' name! I don't think it's over the top frilly or princessy, though the feminine sound of it is what really makes it appealing to me.
As for how I see an Ariella, I picture this adorable little girl I know who is so sweet with long brown hair and brown eyes.
Ariella Jane has a nice flow to it, though I'm not fond of Jane. My favorite combos are Ariella Maria, Ariella Jasmine, and Ariella Faith. Some other suggestions:

Re: Jane, it has never been a favorite of mine even though my dh loves it. It just seems to work with Ariella. Of the mns you suggested, I like Ariella Christine, Ariella Grace (though I hate to admit THAT), Ariella Faith and Ariella Maria.

I definitely agree that Jane does work with Ariella. Hopefully I'll get to use it one day :-)
